Data on Prosecutions Under the National Law

As apparently ACECQA nor the Productivity Commission (in ROGS) is interested in publishing enforcement data, I thought I would look at the information that is published on the various Regulatory Authorities' websites and aggregate the information. The following data provides information on prosecutions (for WA I have included disciplinary proceedings under section 188AA-AC of the WA version of the National Law as that is their preferred approach to legal proceedings). Prosecutions are usually utilised for very serious breaches. The data below is not perfect as the number of services now is greater than it was in 2022 and jurisdictions take different approaches towards enforcement. However, it is interesting to compare the prosecution activity of the various jurisdictions. In subsequent posts I will look at other statutory enforcement actions which will give a better overall picture of comparative enforcement activity.
