Emergency Action Notice Against Approved Provider in Relation to Transportation of Children

As an immediate response to the situation where a child was left on a bus near Rockhampton (see previous blog post), the Queensland Regulatory Authority (Department of Education) earlier this month issued an Emergency Action Notice against DJ and ME O'Rourke Pty Ltd ATF O'Rourke Family Trust, approved providers of Le Smileys Early Learning Centre. The Notice required the approved provider to immediately cease the use of the service’s bus to transport children, later this prohibition was extended to a number of its other services.
