Queensland Prosecution

The Queensland Department of Education has recently published information on its prosecution of the Christian Outreach Centre (Approved Provider). In this case, a child aged 21 months in the care of Citipointe Childcare went missing while on a bushland excursion, and was found between 10 and 30 minutes later by a member of the public. The Approved Provider pleaded guilty to contravening: sections 165(1) and 167(1), National Law. The Approved Provider was fined $18,000 and was required to pay $1,500 costs by the Holland Park Magistrates Court. No conviction was recorded. The Department also published a media release.
